It was on at the Serpentine last year:

http://www.thomasdemand.de/

Similar stuff, obsessive cardboard models of real world tedium. Allegedly made full size and then photographed - including room full of beige photocopiers (sadly not on his website, but can be found by typing his name into google images though) Fortunately the dead Yucca in a plant pot has made it onto the site.Dodgy Boozershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17686569023342187582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743662393406070153.post-49737282363537677672007-08-03T12:05:00.001+01:002007-08-03T12:05:00.001+01:00Wow, what a great post, love those cardboard minia...Wow, what a great post, love those cardboard miniatures are great !!!Mr Rossyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12867479833993077286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743662393406070153.post-3616367424797809702007-08-03T12:05:00.000+01:002007-08-03T12:05:00.000+01:00Wow, what a great post, love those cardboard minia...Wow, what a great post, love those cardboard miniatures are great !!!Mr Rossyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12867479833993077286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743662393406070153.post-82959908389150427832007-08-02T00:17:00.000+01:002007-08-02T00:17:00.000+01:00Telstar was the first ever record played on our ho...Telstar was the first ever record played on our household's first ever record player (a dansette-esque Elizabethan Pop Ten). My Dad heard the beginning and thought there was something wrong with the record player, but Mum and I knew better. I think I was five at the time and I think the second record played was Puff The Magic Dragon.Darcyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16374469353415719429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743662393406070153.post-39233847030101058912007-08-01T19:08:00.000+01:002007-08-01T19:08:00.000+01:00You've made me come over all retro-futurist. Her husband worked for IBM and he lent her one for us to see. It was like your picutures a tiny 1:40 scale model of giant mainframe made out of card board. It had a console and tape bank. Our teacher told us it was the comimg thing(she wasn't wrong) I think we all had to do a cross stitch picture of robot on hessian as well. Re: Joe Meek the intro to Telstar is deeply strange it sounds more like Sonic Youth than a jolly pop hit.BLTPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06564846497205095201noreply@blogger.com
