The only non walker-brothers version I can find a mention of is the one by Walter Jackson, and I don't have that but I've downloaded a snippet of it from Amazon and I don't think it's quite the same. Maybe it's him but a different version?
That's Walter Jackson, that is.
ta kids - i don't think it is walter jackson - i've got a bunch of stuff by him and it's like him but not him.
who the hell is it then ? darned tapes i've lost the track list for

I can't listen at work so I can't be sure what you've got here...Jimmy Radcliffe did it first, before The Walkers.
Great song.
Again it might be a different version but it doesn't sound like the Jimmy Radcliffe version that i have, again, found only a snippet of.
Matt Pimperl? There's a youtube video here -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXYhTe0NVao - but I can't make it work here at work, might be him. I'd like to think so, his name is so bloody great.
you could shazam it ?
Actually I've found I can get through to youtube on iGoogle and I'm pretty sure it's him.
jeez how i wish it was matt pimperl but i don't think it is...
and what's shazam when it's at home?
i'm leaning towards jimmy radcliffe after digging out long after tonight is all over

shazam is where you ring the numbers down the middle of your phone 2580 play a minutes worth of recorded music and Shazam it texts you back the track artist etc. Works best for cd music it's the same system that recognizes stuff on itunes etc I believe, it cost 50p a time or summat.
Ok, I'm home now; it certainly sounds like Jimmy...but the only version of that I can lay my hands on is an alternate demo version or something that came out a couple of years ago. Sounds similar but....
That 'alternate' version of Jimmy's version is here:
