It was Mark Stewart's socks that got me. They looked like the kind of thing my Aunt Betty used to knit and my mother made me wear.

Well Viv Albertine looks terrific and I will always love Alison Statton, as you know.

Viv always looked great. And still does.

She has the humblest looking gaff too.

Alison, not Viv.

Viv recently tweeted that her net earnings last year were £700, bless her, so I'm guessing all that flash decor's on the never never.

Viv Albertine was/is gorgeous!!! Do you think these really are the people's homes they're in? Or some fake up like the 'house' Nigella does her shows from?

Si's right, they may not even be, gasp, their real homes. I remember reading a while back something about The Farm being interviewed in 1990ish. They decided peter Hooton, as the singer, needed to live in the city centre (he didn't, he lived in the suburbs) so he borrowed the guitarist's flat for the interview but had to spend several hours beforehand 'practising' living there, so he knew where things were.

Excellent. Next week : Genesis P-Orridge invites you into his/her lovely home.

Mark Stewart definitely deserves top billing with his blue socks and fig rolls ( shrieks hoarsely : 'Garibaldi mean NOTHING to her! NOTHING to her!'). Our mate Annette edited the first episode of Punk Brittania so she spent a pleasant hour drinking with Mark S at the wrap party. He was a barrel of laughs apparently. Who knew?

Viv Albertine will always mesmerise that generation of men (and women?) who forever picture her naked from the loincloth up and slathered in mud. I used to look out of my kitchen window in 1982 and see her leading the open air Tai Chi group in Brockwell Park. Happy days.
