I saw Frankie in concert in Southend (87 I think) - he'd been stationed here during the war and was still fond of the area so used to come down and test out new material..

If you get the Frankie at The BBC set includes the complete series of Up pompeii..

Finally do you remember House On Nightmare Park a sort of Hammer Horror/Carry On Screaming type thing - with Frankie as Foster Twelvetrees?

I found a large Frankie poster from his later tours the other day that i got signed just need a flat I can put stuff in now:(

Doesn't he look young in the first clip? I'm listening to the radio series he did with June Whitfield, on BBC iPlayer at the moment, and it's still hilarious.

Love the 1966 bit, he's right on it! Top of his form.

(It was interesting to see him throw away and almost fluff the 'dual personality' gag in the second half like it was a new kind of joke that he wasn't convinced of to start with. A few years later John Cooper Clarke would be getting a big laugh with that line in 'Twat'. Different attitude, different crowd.)
