goodbye tea rooms
took a usual diversion round museum street today to pay respects at the ghost of the holborn tea rooms to find the poor dear old thing has finally given in to drab office blackness after lord knows how many years it is now of slowly fading and flaking. what a darned shame. i'd watch this lovely film again but it had me in floods the first time and i'm in no state now neither but perhaps you're feeling braver my friends. i shall be raising a cup and remembering
where are all the dreams that we knew...

I used to eat at Brunos cafe up the road, on Bloomsbury way, hadnt been for years and said I'd meet my mate des there, the whole building had gone ! We were standing there saying 'Where'd it go !!!'
That film is a heartbreaker...
just leaves me hollow, there are some gaps so special that only one thing can fit.How can anyone celebrate such a farewell?
...Not I.
I was only that way myself yesterday - heading to Tavistock Place and the Orange Dot Gallery.
What a film - looks like the sort of gaff that would have sold 'minerals'
I'm all for Sharon Tandy and posted a few bits myself.
Round Holborn way check out Diana's Diner on Endell Street (loads of signed B and W celeb photos ) and
The Fryer's Delight on Theobald Rd
Tea? There's no call for it.
Hi, yeah, can I get a tall wet skinny latte with a double shot
you want marshmallows, cream and a chocolate stick with that Davy?? Bloody places drive me mad!!
marshmallows and chocolate stick please just don't bother with the coffee. like a tunnocks teacake really which the tearooms did a fine line in

Hi Ally, it is very sad to see older traditions passing away.
I've been popping into your blog quite often lately. Would you be interested in looking at mine?
