Oh heck the larfs we've had (and commas we haven't) the Torment Tuesdays we've sobbed through and blog tennis rallies we've rallied. Nine years but more than a lifetime's love music. Thank you Ally and I'm very, very glad we made it 'real' xx
Just checked in to Dusty Sevens for the first time in a bit and seen this news. End of an era! Love and best wishes for whatever comes next even if it's just feeding the ducks.
Not much to add except thank you for the music like everybody else. Here are some tunes that always make me think of you and your blog whenever they pop up in the shuffle...
Alton Ellis - Why Birds Follow Spring Dee Felice Trio - Nightingale Bettye Swann - Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye American Gypsy - Inside Out Glen Campbell - Guess I'm Dumb Roberta Flack - Tryin' Times Lost Generation - This Is The Lost Generation Otis Gayle - I'll Be Around Yusef Lateef - Love Theme From Spartacus Tyrone Davis - Can I Change My Mind Oddysey - Our Lives Are Shaped By What We Love
...and so many more including tunes where you've been an indirect connection like Frank Hotson's "Old Man Me" ( 99p Soul) or Sarah Vaughan's " The Smiling Hour" (Davy's blog).
o my... This is devastating Ally, *"i just dont know what to do with myself" by Dusty Springfield is playing in the background* dammit even itunes shuffle now how i feel. been waiting for your next post. I didnt get your word post at first, i thought it was just your rambling about the songs. i dont read any comment either. silly.
but then your blog is where i found so many gems i wouldnt trade 'em for anything. Thank you so much for the years dearie Ally! and in your own words, lets go out with some magic! with some sprinkle dust maybe? and let the chips fall where they may!
PS: *am still reading your tweets days ago, and i'll be waiting your new post on mixcloud too. do not disappear Ally! =]
As someone who produces a daily music email, I know that posting these songs can be a chore. I also know that people come to depend on us to be there for all those listeners. You might want to reconsider and go back to posting your wonderful songs even if you only post sporadically. Thanks for the great music and know that there were many people who enjoyed your efforts.
