I always think of this kind of Impressions tune as a 99p Soul sort of thing. It's definitely soul but it's been cooked in the same pan that was used for the doo-wop so there's some of that leftover flavour as well.
the impressions really are a marvel. what's ace is everything sounds like a rocksteady record too.
