Oh I love a good western, me. Wasn't this a remake of an old world cinema classic - Carry On Cowboy? ;)

What a classic feme toon! Going to have to watch this film again soon now I think. Horst Buchholz is probably my favourite character, because he's basically Kevin the Teenager in a stetson!

I'll go for Chris (Yule Brinna) for nominitive reasons. mag 7 theme has Strong similarities with Aaron Copland's western classical music (rondo covered by *gulp* ELP).
If we are going for individual theme songs, matt munro from Italian job (cuando?) windmills of your mind form original thomas Crown affair, rain drops keep falling on my head from Butch cassidy ...

On my student webspace I have a poll going for their favourite Charles Bronson film. Mine would be The Magnificent 7 - alas I think they will plump for Deathwish. The ignominy of it!

Oops, that'll learn me to read a bit closer before I shoot my mouth off.

No mention of James Coburn on the poster, but didn't Horst Buchholz get prominent billing, in a role that they'd normally have given to a pop singer - I guess it was too late for Ritchie Valens and too early for Chris Montez.

Is there a bad version of this story? 7 Samurai, Magnificent 7, Battle Beyond The Stars and A Bugs Life - all corkers in their own way (he says - I've never actually seen 7 Samurai)
